History
FROM 1964
TO TODAY
The Village called “Poblat de Pescadors” is a residential complex developed in 1964. It is made up of a small nucleus of singular and unique apartment houses, fitted one on top of the other as if by magic. There are currently 165 units with almost 8.000m2 built, spread over land facing the sea.
The name
POBLAT DE PESCADORS
Since its construction, the Village was spontaneously called “Poblat de Pescadors” because in the past there was an old refuge for fishermen in that place, though it had never actually been a fishing village.
The architecture
A UNIQUE LOCATION IN MENORCA
The Village is unrepeatable due to the uniqueness of its construction, born from the creativity of the Menorcan surveyor Antonio Sintes and with the technical support of the architect Barba Corsini. They were inspired by the buildings and alleyways of the of the Greek Mediterranean islands.
The construction
HAND DRAWN PLANS
The construction was done at the request of the buyers and with practically no detailed plan. The walls of the houses are irregular, due to the adaptation to the nature of the place and the terrain. In addition, there is a bell tower that crowns a small open chapel where Mass is celebrated on special occasions.
The residents
A PRIVATE PROPERTY
The Village is a private property condominium organised as a Community of Owners, each one paying the corresponding fees for maintenance of the Village.
